Walnut Davenport

After many years sitting in the sun, this lovely davenport needed bringing back to life.

Repair To Table Leg Required

This much loved table was unusable with its broken leg. Here you can see the start of the turning of a new section of leg to replace bad previous repair

The Canon

This canon was originally used as a film prop, but after many years in sat in the British weather, was looking rather sorry for itself.

With its polish work revived and it veneer repaired this davenport is now ready to give many more years of enjoyment.

The Restored Canon

This was such an enjoyable project, having to make a manual lathe big enough to turn the barrel from wood, fashioning new metal wheel rims and returning it to its former glory.

Burr Walnut Card Table

This table had a lot of bubbles under the veneer needing careful and meticulous attention, the polish work needed reviving conserving the patination. The baize inside was worn.

Rocking Horse

This cherished horse was in a sad way, after many years of much loved play. Wherever possible I conserved the original finish and filled the missing pieces. I fashioned some of the missing leather straps and metal buckle.

Bespoke Case For Ceramic Poppy

I was asked to design and make this case for a poppy that formed part of the display at the Tower of London.

The Finished Card Table

Repaired veneer and revived polish work, with a new baize fitted to the inside matching the original.

Completed Rocking
Horse

The finished project back in his rightful home, this gave me so much pleasure to see a photograph of the first generation riding him, he is now ready for the fourth generation of children to enjoy.

Hand Made Key 

This large key was hand fashioned for a French Armoire. It measured 6 inches in lenth.

Mahogany Drop Dial Clock

This lovely clock had pieces of cross banding missing, a broken lock was repaired and key made to fit.

Rosewood Davenport

This Davenport was in a sad way. The fall was broken and there were splits in the side. The polish needed attention and a leather made to match original.

Writing slope

This Writing Slope had a broken hinge which needed repair and some loose veneer needing attention. The polish was revived and waxed to finish. Finally a new leather was fitted.

Traditional

I use traditional techniques to give the perfect finish, and use period wood, handles and glass wherever needed.
